Ina on the road

Pai is the place. The place where you just chill out in a hammock all day, doing absolutely nothing. Where everybody can walk around barefoot, and women without bras. Nothing really happens, and that is exactly why everything is possible in Pai. It is a place where you go without knowing how long you will stay (unless you have flight you need to catch). Every day, you will go to the reception and extend your stay at your hotel for another night. You could do it like Adrien from Belgium, of course, and book for “two weeks for now” before you find a hammock that you won’t leave for that time. And Jay and Mary, the couple from England can’t even remember how long they have been here. This village in the mountains in the North of Thailand must have been discovered by some Hippies a long time ago, (both Thai and foreigners), and since then it has evolved to a colorful town that attracts hippies, backpackers, stoners and other curious souls. Pai ist der Ort, an dem man den ganzen Tag in der Hängematte verbringt und nichts tut, wo man abends nur noch barfuß herumläuft und frau ohne BH. In Pai passiert eigentlich nichts, und deshalb kann alles Mögliche geschehen. Pai ist der Ort, an den man kommt, ohne zu wissen, wie lange man bleibt. Jeden Tag geht man zur Rezeption des Hostels und verlängert nochmal für eine Nacht. Oder man macht es wie Adrien aus Belgien, bucht für „mindestens zwei Wochen“ und legt sich dann in die Hängematte. Jay und Mary, das Paar aus England, wissen nicht mehr so genau, wie lange sie schon hier sind. Das Bergdorf im hohen Norden Thailands wurde irgendwann mal von Hippies entdeckt, thailändischen wie ausländischen, und irgendwie hat es sich seitdem zu einem kunterbunten Besuchsmagneten entwickelt.
